Bengaluru, Oct 24: The door-to-door survey of beneficiaries under the Gruha Jyothi scheme, one of the five guarantee schemes introduced by the Congress government in Karnataka, will conclude on October 31, and the deadline will not be extended further, sources said.
The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) has asked beneficiaries who have not yet undergone verification to submit the required documents within the stipulated deadline.

Officials, sharing information on Friday, urged consumers listed as beneficiaries of the Gruha Jyothi scheme to complete their verification process.
Those who have not participated in the survey so far have been instructed to personally visit their nearest BESCOM sub-division office and submit the necessary documents.
“The survey has been underway for the past three-and-a-half months. The state government has provided a final opportunity to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out of the scheme. Those who could not participate because their houses were locked, their homes were vacant or they were unavailable when BESCOM staff visited can come to the office and submit their details. The deadline will not be extended again,” officials said.
According to BESCOM statistics, as of October 22, the survey had been completed for 73.17 lac consumers out of a total of 74.29 lac registered beneficiaries across the eight districts under BESCOM's jurisdiction. This means verification has been completed for 98.49 per cent of the beneficiaries.
The remaining consumers whose verification is pending must submit the required documents by October 31. Officials said BESCOM staff had made several attempts to reach beneficiaries who had not completed the survey.
During the survey, BESCOM staff and meter readers visited houses found locked or vacant up to three times. They also sent SMS messages to the registered mobile numbers of beneficiaries, urging them to participate in the verification process.
Despite these efforts, beneficiaries who have not completed verification have been instructed to visit the BESCOM sub-division office concerned and submit the required documents.
BESCOM has reiterated that October 31 is the final deadline for verification under the Gruha Jyothi scheme and that no further extension will be granted.
Therefore, beneficiaries whose verification is still pending are advised to submit the necessary documents as soon as possible rather than wait until the last day.
