Karkala, Oct 26: Five students of Christ King English Medium Primary School, Karkala, have qualified for the district-level athletics competitions after securing top positions at the Karkala taluk-level primary school sports meet.

The competition was organised by the Department of Public Instruction, Government of Karnataka, and the Office of the Block Education Officer, Karkala, under the aegis of Government Model Higher Primary School, Pervaje. The event was held at the Karkala taluk sports ground.

The school’s girls’ relay team, comprising Trishma, Pranvi S Devadiga and Ashi Shetty of Class 7, along with Ashel D’Almeida of Class 8, secured first place to qualify for the district-level competition. Srushti Poojari of Class 7 secured second place in the shot put event, earning district-level qualification.

In other events, Pranvi S Devadiga secured third place in the 100-metre race, while Prastuth of Class 8 finished third in the 80-metre hurdles.

The school congratulated the students on their achievements and wished them success in the district-level competitions.
