Puttur, Nov 5: The driver and passengers of a car had a miraculous escape after the vehicle rammed into an electricity transformer at Dontila near Nellyadi on Wednesday November 4.
The car, driven by Sundar Alva, a resident of Balya, was travelling from Nellyadi towards Balya on the Nellyadi-Balya road when it crashed into the transformer.
Due to the impact, one of the electricity poles broke, bringing the pole and electric wires down onto the car. Although electricity was flowing through the wires at the time of the accident, the power supply tripped and was automatically switched off, averting a major tragedy.
Sundar Alva, his wife and daughter-in-law escaped unhurt.
