Mangalore, Apr 4: Following the news of the removal of chief minister's media advisor R P Jagadeesh that was seen by some as the first drastic step by CM Sadananda Gowda to assert himself, Jagadeesh said that he was sacked due to political reasons.
Speaking to Daijiworld over the phone from Bangalore, R P Jagadeesh said that as there exists two groups - Yeddyurappa’s loyalists and Gowda’s loyalists - and it was for political reasons that he was sacked. He brushed aside any other reason, but did not explain on what political grounds he was removed.
Jagadeesh, a journalist, was appointed by Yeddyurappa when he was the chief minister and he continued in the post even after Gowda assumed office.
Last month, B J Puttaswamy, a loyalist of Yeddyurappa who was his political secretary when CM, was suspended from the BJP after he tried to contest as rebel in the Rajya Sabha biennial election.
Talking to reporters, Sadananda Gowda said that he asked Jagadeesha to resign. He reasoned Jagadeesh did not turn up in office for many days.
