Panaji, Nov 6: The Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRO), Goa, detected five foreign nationals allegedly overstaying in the country without valid travel documents during a special drive conducted at Querim in Pernem on November 5.

During the operation, officials found three Russian nationals, comprising two men and a woman, allegedly staying without valid passports and visas. One of them reportedly claimed to possess a United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) card, which is not recognised as a valid travel or immigration document in India.

The drive also led to the detection of two Ukrainian nationals, a man and a woman, who were allegedly overstaying in the country without valid visas.

Authorities have restricted the movement of all five foreign nationals and initiated deportation proceedings against them.

The FRO said such special drives would continue to identify foreign nationals overstaying in Goa without valid immigration documents and take appropriate action against them.
