Sullia: Local Residents Protest over Poor Quality of Asphalting Work

Sullia, Apr 5: The local residents led by auto rickshaw drivers held a protest alleging sub-standard work of asphalting the road on Alletti to Gurumpu at Gandhi Nagar, near here, on Wednesday April 4.



The asphalting is underway at a cost of Rs 5.5 lac and constructing a culvert at Gurumpu in Gandhi Nagar at a cost of Rs 5 lac.  The construction of the culvert has already been completed while the asphalting work has been of poor quality, alleged the protesters.

The protest was called off when the town panchayat vice-president Prakash Hegde and engineer Arun arrived at the location and instructed the contractor to paver-finish the asphalting works.
