Bhatkal, Apr 5: One person was killed and another seriously injured when a motorcycle was hit by a truck near Vivekanand Nagar on the national highway late on Wednesday April 4.
Ighnis Rakhi Fernandis (30) passwed away at the hospital. The injured person has been identified as Roni Fernandes (28). Roni was taken to Karwar government hospital and then later shifted to goa.
It is learnt that the truck was on its way to Goa from Mangalore. It rammed the motorcycle from the rear side, leaving one dead on the spot. Both the victims are residents of Sandiya in Karwar. They were travelling on a Splender bike.
The Karwar traffic police have registered a case.
