Bangalore: Youth Celebrating Birthday Falls to Death from 13th Floor

Bangalore, Apr 8 (DHNS): A 21-year-old youth celebrating his birthday in the company of his friends died in the early hours of Saturday when he fell from the 13th floor of an apartment building in Sanjay Nagar police limits.

Adit Nair, a II year BBM student at CMR College, Banaswadi and his friends decided to celebrate his April 8 birthday two days early, as some of them would not be in town on the day. Nair, a resident of Indiranagar II Phase, and his friends gathered at the flat of his friend Namith on the 10th floor of Chartered Apartments in Bhoopasandra around 9:30 pm on Friday. The flat belongs to Namith’s father, Dr Ashok Kumar, who heads the radiology department in M S Ramaiah Hospital.

The party went on till late in the night. Around 2 am, the boys who were allegedly drunk, moved to the terrace on the 13th floor. In high spirits, Adit climbed on to the 3 x3 feet wide ventilation shaft between the apartment blocks, that was covered by a slender fibre sheet.

But the thin cover was unable to hold his weight and gave way, plunging him straight to an instantaneous death, police said. The impact of the fall was such that the body and face were disfigured beyond recognition.

Adit’s family had moved to Bangalore from Kerala and is settled in Indiranagar. His father, Jagan Mohan is a manager with a construction firm.

Suja Bennet, principal of CMR Institute of Management Studies said: “ He was a very pleasant boy who took part in extra curricular activities and still managed to perform good in academics. The college will mourn the loss of its student on Monday morning.”

No its not the question of unaccounted money, do you think nowadays grown up kids realise whats right and wrong, they do it in the influence of friends, just cant blame parents for everything. The youth should read what has happened with this boy and hope they realise how difficult it is to grow a child, when parents need their support these incidents happen. We can just pray for his soul and also pray for his parents for the terrible loss of their son.May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

So sad for the young soul.

Whatever, he'll be free from all the vices up there, I guess. It is hard to believe that today's youth can't party without booze! It is not the culture but parents have unaccounted money that the children can squander. This leads to misery. Nothing more....

Very much disheartening news. Our all due sympathy goes to the breaving parents for loosing their son. Now, coming to the menace of Alcohal, as the proven saying prevails "First we drink alcohal and than the alcohal drinks us" and once under the influence of Alcohal,we are unable to recognise ourselves and indulge by default in the gruesome activities that will bring irreparable damage to individual, family and society in general. Let us try to educate the people on repercussions of Alcohal and the evils connected with it.

Mr. Rakesh Shetty, these things have nothing to do with Western or Eastern culture... You sound like an innocent baby who is repeating something to get a kick out of it. Please grow up..

First of all hearty sympathies to the parents. No parnts to subjected to such pain. May God give them enough strength to bear the lose. Now coming to points - uncontrolled alcolic paarties. So many incidents like this happening in high rise buildings. Firstly parents has to blame for it either they dont control or dont want to control..!This is what happens when they have parties when alcohol is freely available and a precious life is lost. Secondly I feel Dr. Ashok Kumar who heads the Radiology Department in MS Ramaiah Hospital who is allowed such drinks to be taken in his house by these youngsters.
