Mangalore: ‘Kalpavally’ Telefilm on Mgr Raymond Mascarenhas Released

Mangalore, Apr 10: Bishop of Mangalore, Aloysius Paul D’Souza released the telefilm ‘Kalpavally’ on the life of Mgr Raymond FC Mascarenhas at Bethany Hall, here. On this occasion, he also launched a website www.rfcmascarenhas.com, a special website on Raymond Mascarenhas.

The telefilm produced by the Bethany Educational Society, Mangalore, covered the whole life of Mgr Raymond. The lyrics were composed by Sumukananda Jalavally, a teacher at Little Flower Girls’ High School, Kinnigoli. The director of the film is Suresh Attavar. Sr Reena was the co ordinator.

At this function, Sr Wilberta, the superior general welcomed the Bishop and the gathering.

Sr Rose Celine, secretary of the Bethany Educational Society explained that about 100 artists acted in the film and most of them were students and teachers of Little Flower School, Kinnigoli.

Sr Lillis, assistant superior general spoke on the occasion. She said that the website was made at the special requests of people from India and abroad who were devoted to the Mgr Raymond Mascarenhas. The website contains nine sections namely Home Page, messages, news, details, about the cause of Msgr Raymond, favour received, articles, drawings, paintings and skits on him.

The Bishop appreciated the efforts of the Bethany Educational Society. He said that the media is a powerful tool to reach people. Mgr Raymond is a historic person whom we should bring into light to the general public. “It is our duty to bring all his good work to the society,” he said.
