Mangalore, Apr 11: A house in Thokkottu near here caught fire late night on Tuesday April 10. The house was partially damaged as a result.

The house, belonging to a person named Sheshappa located by the side of Nirmala Garage, faced the threat of being reduced into ashes after the fire, which was reportedly started in the bathroom for heating water, spread to the roof unnoticed.

The locals, with the help of the neighbours, succeeded in containing the fire.

The fire brigade personnel too rushed to the spot and doused the fire before it could inflict more damages.

No one was injured in the incident. The wooden beams, tiles, and walls of the house suffered maximum damages. The extent of loss is yet to be assessed.
