Mangalore: Injured Pillion Rider Dies at Hospital

Mangalore, Apr 12: Girija (32), wife of Ananda Gowda, a BJP leader from Rekhya village and resident of Karakanda in Rekhya village near Nelyady, died in a private hospital in the city on Tuesday April 10. She had been seriously injured in an accident which had occurred on Monday.

After the motor bike being driven by Ananda Gowda with wife, Girija, and five-year old son, Praneet, in the pillion, hit a jeep moving in front of them after the jeep came to a grinding halt all of a sudden, all the three had suffered grievous injuries. The couple was carrying the child to Nelyady hospital, when the accident occurred near Parakkala. All the three were rushed to a hospital in Mangalore.

Zilla panchayat vice-president, Dhanalakshmi Janardhan, Beltangady BJP unit president, Sharada Rai, and various other persons visited the house of Ananda Gowda in Rekhya and offered condolences to the bereaved family.
