The menace of dowry has two perceptions - one is that the boy's side demands articles worth certain value or girls(especially when single daughter) adamantly ask their parents for such articles though the boys side isn't too insisting.

The campaign should be two-sided. Our sons and daughters both must abandon the plague of dowry and decide to live with what they can afford. Daughters must be encouraged to work and taught martial arts to protect themselves. Men, don't take offense at this your own sisters are making your burden lighter. At the same time, while teasing a woman, remember there is your sister at home who may also be subject to similar treatment by others !

The progress and development of society must come from all communities.
