Beltangady: Boy Drowns in Rivulet

Beltangady, Apr 13: A boy fell into the rivulet near Nidgal, Ujire, on Thursday April 12, and lost his life. He has been identified as Nitin Shetty (16), son of Subraya Shetty from Kallebail in Ujire village.

Nitin was a student of Anugraha English Medium School in Ujire. He had approached the rivulet along with three of his friends for swimming. He slipped and fell into the rivulet. His friends, who were unable to save him, called the fire brigade.

The fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot, and retrieved the boy from the depths of the rivulet. He was rushed to the government hospital here, but Nitin did not respond to treatments.

A complaint in this connection was filed by the boy’s father, with the police station here.
