Puttur: Co-op Movement Veteran Jeevan Bhandary Passes Away

Puttur, Apr 14: Jeevan Bhandary, veteran of co-operative movement, Congress leader, and a resident of Sidyala in Chikkamudnoor village, near here, passed away due to a brief illness in a private hospital in Mangalore on Friday April 13.



Bhandary served as director of SCDCC Bank, vice-president of District Congress Committee, chief secretary of district youth Congress, president of Chikkamudnoor Milk Producers’ Union, and honorary president of taluk youth Bunts Sangh.  He was instrumental in bagging the gold medal for Bannur Seva Sahakari Bank which was a loss-making institution when he took over its chairmanship.

The last rites of Bhandary were held at Kepulu, Chikkamudnoor, and attended by many political leaders.
