Bangalore, Apr 14: The famed Red Ribbon Express Train, which travels around the country to create public awareness about HIV Aids, will be arriving in Bangalore on Sunday (April 15) and will be in the city till April 17.

The public can visit the eight bogies in the Red Ribbon Express Train, which will be halting at the Cantonment Railway Station, from 10 am till 6 pm on April 16 and 17.

Of the eight bogies in the Red Ribbon Express Train, the first four bogies will have exhibitions on various aspects of HIV Aids, the prevention, control, proper and safe sex life and the personal hygiene qne other aspects of health to be maintained.

The fifth bogy in the Red Ribbon Express Train will have provision for discussions and exchange of views with different groups of people with experts and doctors in batches.
Arrangements for providing training to interested persons are also provided and 60 persons can be provided with training at a time. Personal medical consultation and treatment will be available in another bogy while the last bogy is reserved for food and refreshments.

Giving details about the various arrangements made in connection with the arrival of the Red Ribbon Express Train in the city, Bangalore city deputy commissioner M K Ayyappa said arrangements have also been made to enter the Railway Platform and visit the Red Ribbon Express Train free of cost.

The Red Ribbon Express Train is arriving in Bangalore for the second time, Ayyappa said pointing out that as many as 43,370 HIV infected persons have been registered in the city.  The HIV Aids infected people in the city included 24,828 men, 16,211 women and 1735 boys and 1488 girls below the age of 15 years.
