Mangalore: Retired Bank Manager D P Kumar Dies in Accident

Mangalore, Apr 16: A retired bank manager died in an accident that occured at Chilimbi here on Saturday April 14 night.

The deceased is Diwakar Shenoy, popularly known as D P Kumar (63), resident of Pandeshwar who had served as manager in Corporation Bank.

His wife Shobha (48) was injured in the accident and admitted to a hospital.

The couple were returning in their Maruti Omni after offering puja at Bappanadu Temple in Mulky.

At around 11 pm, D P Kumar is said to have lost control over the vehicle and rammed into an electric pole. Both he and his wife were rushed to a hospital in a seriously injured state.

D P Kumar passed away at around 3 am on Sunday April 15. His wife is said to be recovering.

D P Kumar was a regular reader of Daijiworld and frequently expressed his views and opinions on various issues on the website. His last comment on Daijiworld was on the issue of privatisation of water, the link of which is given below:

    very sad news. i was there in spot and i called 108 it came after 30 minute. and police also came late.
