Mangalore: CITU Protests Against MESCOM

Mangalore, Apr 17: The MESCOM non-permanent workers association (CITU) staged a protest against the MESCOM officials in front of the MESCOM head office near A B Shetty circle, here, on Tuesday April 17. Their main agenda was to make the temporary categorized workers as permanent workers and to stop the method of contract based employing system.

Protestors urged MESCOM to provide them with the following facilities like permanent job, minimum salary of Rs 10,000 on the first day of every month. Payslip and employement card, provident fund and bonus, paid leave for once in 20 days, legally make them permanent as per the Supreme Court orders and other legal aspects to be brought into effect.

B M Bhat, lawyer, honorary president, Shivkumar lawyer, president, Karunakar, treasurer, Mahesh, secretary, Sunil Bajal and many other leaders, members and wellwishers were present.
