Mangalore, Apr 17: Fire broke out in an electric fire following a short circuit at Yekkur on the national highway here on Tuesday April 17 night.
The short circuit recurred several times for a few minutes, and the wire which which was insulated with plastic caught fire.
A passerby who notice the fire informed the fire service. However, the fire personnel reportedly came late.
As the fire spread, locals gathered at the spot. The fire personnel after some effort managed to douse the fire.
As a result of the incident, power supply in the area was disrupted.
