Mulky, May 16: In a case, a person named Nagavendra Shetty (28), resident of Kinnigoli and the owner of Hotel Nagaraj died after being discharged from the Srinivas hospital, Mukka recently in mysterious circumstances.
Nagaraj was admitted to Srinivas hospital with Malaria. Dr Harish Rao and Dr Pradeep treated the patient for five days and sent him home when his condition seemed to improve.
However, He developed unusual pain in heart and was taken to the hospital again where the doctors treated him for a day and discharged him the next day saying it was nothing but gastric ailment. But his condition got worse and the family decided to take Nagavendra to another hospital.
Thereafter he was taken to A J Hospital. The patient breathed his last in A J hospital after five days of treatment. When asked for the reason for his death, the doctors of A J hospital said, he was brought late and he suffered infections in the body due to some allergy. The doctors suspect the allergy must have been due to the improper medication.
The family and the friends of deceased Nagavendra after hearing the death due to the improper treatment at Mukka Hosiptal staged protest in front of the same hospital and questioned the hospital authorities. They were ready to make compromise if the doctor asked pardon and assured to take good care of the patients henceforth. But the doctors from Srinivas hospital Mukka denied the allegation saying they sent the patient home when he was in better condition.
A case was registered against the doctor and Managing director Dr Raghvendra of Srinivas hospital, Mukka.
It is learnt from police station that compromise has been reached at after a talk with the family and the doctors.
