Mangalore, Jun 7: Monsoon has just began and already the rains are taking a toll on the citizens and public property.

On Thursday June 7 at around 6.45 am, an old tree, perhaps around 80 years old, fell near Jeppu railway crossing

A residential building is under construction, and it is said that the ground-levelling work led to soil erosion, thus causing the tree to uproot.

No loss of life or injury was reported in the incident.

In another incident at the nearby Mahankali Padapu, Kopparige, a house was inundated after heavy rains lashed the city during the night.

We people stay here. It is very difficult to go by this road not only because of trees but also vehicles passing by. It is very dangerous place. Even all vehicles from Ullal, Thokott etc., pass by this road which is very difficult for us to walk on the street especial small children

    Dear Rakesh

Are you insane! What is the meaning of nice pictures? Can’t you see the difficulties and inconvenience of those people where water is surrounded.

I think people now want the water to flow from lower levels to upper levels. Poor nature has to take the blame for the misdeeds of man.
