Mangalore: MCC Sets July 31 Deadline to Procure Trade Licences

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (NM)

Mangalore, Jun 20: In the wake of a series of raids conducted by the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) on illegal and unathorized businesses in the city, the MCC has decided to give traders time till July 31 to apply and get valid trade licences.

In a media release, MCC joint commissioner Shrikanth Rao said that traders operating with MCC limits will have to renew or procure new licences by July 31.

If the traders fail to meet the deadline, their establishments will be closed down and no plea for licences thereafter will be entertained.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Rao said that traders who carry on their businesses without valid licence after July 31 will be taken to task, and no licence would be issued after the deadline.

Though raids on unauthorized trades will be suspended till July 31, raids on unhygenic hotels and eateries will continue, he added.

Since more than a month, the MCC has been conducting raids on a war-footing on roadside vendors, unauthorized shops, hotels and slaughter houses, imposing penalties and sealing erring establishments.

Now that’s pretty professional!.Carry out awareness programs in notice periods.
Don’t just sit quite by passing the ball to other court .Other than just prominence and address the issue which would get revenue to MCC, also Involve in every possible social issue’s Mangalore is lagging in!!
Have panels in you for different sectors, it just doesn’t make sense heading to tackle in a team of half dozen to one single issue!
Else it would sound like agrez ke zameneki jailer in sholay !
Sipaahi yo, aadhe udhar jao, aadhe idhar jao aur baaki mere peechche aao........
Arthaath: Start well, proceed well, continue well…BUT NEVER END .

Good and fair idea keep the check on eating house, especilly the smaller oneS. I remember some six years back, was in Mangalore city, from the village limits held up during the lunch time, near Felix Pai Bazaar. Since it is a lunch time restaurents were overcrowded. There was a small restaurent near by I entered as there was some place to sit.It was a non- vegitable eating shop/hotel.As I entered and rushed out due to the swarm of flies. I surprised people were quitely eating with one hand chasing the flies. Health authorites should give more attention on the cleanliness in the eating houses, and eatable product. which are there in. Hungry person does not bother during this time.May God Bless Our MANGALORE.

Rakesh Shetty, Why were target dates not given to Slaughter Houses or Bhel Puri wallas?
It is because they were not from your community?

They should install CCTV cameras in every licencing counter. The deadline may be a tool to collect bribes for all the departments. If the officer is really clean then why not visit the fish auction area at bunder?.

FINALLY MCC NOTED MY PREVIOUS COMMENTS ON LAST ISSUE.

IN THAT I WAS SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED MCC SHOULD GIVE PROPER TARGET DATE BEFORE RAID.

THAT'S WHY THEY HAVE GIVEN TARGET DATE.
