Mangalore, Jun 25:
Extending support to the nationwide bandh called by Indian Medical Association on June 25 to protest the Centre's decisions on National Council for Human Resources in Health (NCHRH) Bill, Bachelor of Rural Health Care (BRHC) course and Clinical Establishment Act, the local unit of IMA staged a protest at IMA house, Attavar Road here on Monday June 25.

Addressing the gathering, Dr K Jayaprakash Shetty said that the move of the central health ministry to initiate NCHRH Bill will result in taking away the autonomous power of the medical and paramedical councils. The protestors also decried the implementation of Clinical Establishment (Registration and Regulation) Act.

Dr K Mohandas Bhandary, vice-president of IMA Karnataka said that granting of autonomous power to any democratic institutions results in good quality service, a fact which holds good in the case of medical education and health services also.

"If the autonomous power is revoked now, it may cause decline in the quality of medical service across the nation," he said.

Members of the Mangalore unit of IMA shut down their clinics (except emergency services) and took part in the protest.

A copy of the memorandum addressed to the governor was submitted to the DC.

Dr Satheesh K Bhandary, Dr Annayya Kulal, Dr Siddarth M Shetty, Dr K Bhasker Shetty among others were present.

Jun 25: Doctors Go on Strike - No Cause for Panic

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore / Bangalore

Mangalore/Bangalore, Jun 25: Doctors across the nation will go on a day-long strike on Monday June 25, causing some inconvenience to the patients. In Karnataka alone, around 6,000 doctors are expected to take part in the strike.

The doctors are protesting against the Clinical Establishment (Registration and Regulation) Act, 2010 and the National Commission for Human Resources for Health (NCHRH) Bill, 2011. The recently passed bill targets dissolution of Indian Medical Association and other related bodies, and replacing them with a national human resources commission.

But doctors in Mangalore and Bangalore have assured the public that they need not panic as all emergency services will be available.

The president of State Doctors' Association Dr Ravindra speaking to daijiworld assured that emergency services in all government hospitals and medical colleges will be available for the public, so there is no cause for anxiety.

The Karnataka Chemists and Druggists' Association also assured uninterrupted service as it will not take part in the strike.

IMA-affiliated private and government doctors are taking part in the nationwide strike.

Most Doctors are unethical.90% of them don't pay proper Income Tax / service tax etc. They don't issue a receipt for the proff.fees collected/demanded from the patients. They are considered a breeding ground for black money.Recently the IT officials raided about 8 leading Doctors in Mangalore and unearthed crore's of Rupees of unaccounted money gold.

Let the Doctor's first set right their moral value's.

In foreign countries patients complaints against the doctors are taken seriously. The Doctors are answerable where as in India patients cases against the doctors will not be entertained. There are many negligence and carelessness on the part of the doctors due to which several patients have died (true well dedicated a very few have them do not see wealth but only as a profession). They put all the pressure on the nurses who are paid lowest salary. The Doctors Medical Associations are biased to patients and pro to doctors.

Whenever a patient comes to the Doctor, first he will inquire about his profession. Then the Doctor enjoy removing the blood and enjoy in emptying pockets of the patient. Finally if the ailment worsens the doctor will say to give him only juice. Once the patient refuses intake of juice through the mouth, the doctor will advise the nurse to put a tube from the nose. When that also fails, then inject only glucose with vitamins injected inside glucose bottle. Finally the patient is d dead. Now the patient's family has no money to take the body out of the hospital. Then starts strikes from the patients side for charging heavy bill. (Very, very few doctors see the patients humanely).

Presently they are happy with Medical insurance. The patient will ask more bills and the doctor will provide as much he demands plus the doctor also will enjoy charging with hefty bill of the insurance. Where is the righteousness and truth? Both the righteousness and truth are high jacked by the patient and the doctor.

If a doctor wanted a clinic he should obtain license I agree with the government that they should make it mandatory.

What is good for general public?? strike? Poor quality service? what MCI done for the general public? Is there any control from MCI over the doctors fees? Quality service is given only to rich people and especially polititions. so why to blame government? I dont think this strike is to serve the general public? Everybody is doing for money money and money... This strike is only good for doctors not for general public....

Whenever a patient comes to the Doctor first he will ask what the job you are doing. Then the Doctors enjoy sucking the blood and enjoying in emptying the pockets of the patients. The doctor will say give him only juice. Once the patient refuses intake juice through the mouth, the doctor will advise the nurse to put a tube from the nose for the inflow of juice to stomach. When that also fails, give only glucose with vitamins inside glucose. Finally the patient is d dead. Now the patient has no money to take the body. Then starts strikes from the patients side for charging heavy bill. (Now a day very, very few doctors only see the patients humanely.

In my opinion to open a clinic by the doctors they should obtain a licence mere profession is not sufficient.

Throughout the world in all Countries the Medical Doctors are Controlled by Medical Councils which is made of  Eminent Doctors from the Country and India also had a Medical Council of India .This was MCI act of 1956 gave full autonomy for the Medical council .This UPA Govt wants to remove that autonomy and put Doctors within the Political Lobby of NCHRH .Which is not good for both Doctors and General Public .

Well, doctors need to get some respect back by stopping malpractices (have you seen Amir Khan's Satyameva Jayate?). IMA need to show its teeth against malpractices.
Having said that it seems Kapil Sibal is hell bent upon reducing premium institutions to zero by his crazy ideas.

This bill is surely not for betterment of people. UPA is planning to loot another 2 lakhs crores through MEDICAL SCAM by scapegoating health minister.

UPA boss would have already told health minister that maximum he will be in jail 3 months and he will get 30% of the total scam amount.

There are lot of difference between Council and Association.National council exists in most of the Western Countries which regulates the Health Professions. We hope NCHRH bill will do the same. There are lot of association too exists in these countries which safe guards the rights of the health professionals. A single regulatory body for health professions is required in India and at the same time existing associations such as MCI,DCI,INC, IAP etc. should remain to protect the rights of the professionals. In this regard awareness about importance of NCHRH bill and the association should be delivered to the respective people including politicians.

Strike is a kind of tool to show your displeasure to your superiors. The strike should not be used to distrub the public or the poor patients. The alternative way of treatment to the poor patients should avail in all the hospitals as well as in the clinics too.Govt.should look into this matter seriously so that strike should not strike the poors in any way.

For the Knowledge of the readers please note that National Commission for Human Resources for Health (NCHRH) Bill, 2011.Makes a provision to Bring all Medical ,Nursing ,Dental ,Pharmacy Councils under its Perview rather than individual Councils may not be a Bad Idea if it is Corruption free .But Dissolution of IMA is wrong .MCI and IMA both are different MCI is the Controlling authority for Doctors which can be dissolved and included in thisNCHRH But why IMA?? IMA is just a Doctors association .

Another Point Why Doctors Clinic need to be Rigistered again??? when that Doctor is already Registered ??/ Questions and more than the Answers .Not good for Doctors or even the general Public .All Councils Medical ,Dental ,etc are doing excellant Job Govt just want to wrestle power from MCI
