Udupi: Robbers Assault House Owner, Escape with Cash, Valuables Worth Rs 2.5 Lac

Udupi, Jul 13: Another robbery was reported in the city, on the afternoon of Friday July 13 between 12.30 to 1.30 when six persons allegedly entered a house on the pretext of drinking water.

It is said that the six forcibly tied and hit the owner of the house, K Surya Kumar Shetty (66)/ He was later admitted to the government hospital.

Shetty has a son and a daughter. Ananth Poojari (70), who was also in the house said that the son was away with his friends doing group study. The daughter works for Kannada daily and was at work at the time of the incident.

The robbers looted Rs 50,000 in cash and a diamond ring worth Rs 2 lac (with 15 diamonds embedded in it).

Udupi police have registered a case.
