Mangalore: Infant Jesus Shrine Celebrates Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Mangalore, Jul 15: The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was celebrated at Infant Jesus Shrine, Carmel Hill, Bikarnakatte, on Sunday July 15. As preparation for the feast, a nine-day novena was held along with Holy Mass and homily.

Fr Vincent Monteiro, director of Mangalore diocesan Pastoral Institue, Bajjody, celebrated the festal Holy Mass on Sunday evening along with St Joseph’s Seminary rector Fr Joseph Martis, Mangalore diocesan chancellor Fr Henry Sequeira, Fr Baptist Saldanha, Fr Elias D’Souza, Fr John Sequeira, Fr Melvyn D’Cunha, Fr Charles Serrao, Fr Richard Lasrado, Fr Deep Fernandes, Fr Deepak Tauro, Fr Gregory D’Souza, Fr Maxim Noronha and other priests.

Fr Pinto, in his homily, said that Mother Mary accepted the divine call and lived by it throughout her life. He urged the faithful to help fellowmen in their need and strengthen the family bonds.
 
Fr Pius James D’Souza, superior of St Joseph’s Monastery, Bikarnakatte, thanked the gathering.
