Kundapur, Jul 16: In yet another atrocity, a man was beaten badly on charges of having an affair with a married woman in Beejuru grama panchayat near Uppunda on Saturday July 14 night.

Raghavendra Poojary (31) is said to have an affair with a nearby married woman, mother of two children. Their affair had started during their school days. It is learnt that the woman had split from her husband and was residing in a rented house with Poojary for almost three years which led to quarrels with her family.

The woman’s family lodged a complaint saying that their daughter was kidnapped by Raghavendra last year eventhough they knew she lived with him. Police took action against this had sent the woman back to her maternal house.

Even after this, the couple allegedly met each other regularly which further angered the family members. They threatened Raghavendra several times.

Sources said that a group of people attacked him with lethal weapons and slashed his limbs leaving him brutally injured. This tragic incident has rendered the Raghavendra incapable of managing his life as his body has been severely mangled.

The mob involved in the incident are said to be criminals, said one of Raghavendra’s friends.

A case has been registered at Byndoor police station.
