Mangalore: AICS Table Tennis Tournament Held at Lourdes Central School

Mangalore, Jul 16: Table Tennis tournament -2012 by AICS is organized with the sole objective of bringing out new talents and encouraging the budding sports persons.The tournament was hosted by Lourdes Central School on July 13 at the Bejai Church Hall. 

The inaugural programme was graced by esteemed and erudite guests, in Fr Victor Machado, manager LCS, Walter Monteiro, a national level table tennis player and the principal, Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves.  The inauguration was unique and sportive that saw the dignitaries play across the table tennis table.


Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves welcomed the gathering that was followed by the speeches from the chief guest and the President, who encouraged & inspired the participants.

“When the going gets tough the tough get going!” was the spirit of the tournament.  All the teams gave a tough fight during the matches and the winners were felicitated in the valedictory ceremony.

The winners of the under 14 girls group was the team from   Little Rock Indian School, runners up – Delhi Public School, MRPL, the winners of the under 16 girls are Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar, runners up–Delhi Public School. The winners of the under 14 boys group was the team from Little Rock Indian School, Brahamavar, runners up – Delhi Public School and the winners of the under 16 boys group was the team from, Little Rock Indian school and runners up- Delhi Public School, MRPL.

The valedictory programme was graced by Dr Victor Machado, manager LCS, The chief guest, Mr Mallikarjuna C, Regional Transport Officer, Dakshina Kannada and the principal  Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves, all the dignitaries addressed the gathering appreciated the participants and congratulated the winners
                                                                                                                     
The programme wound up with national anthem.
