Mangalore, Jul 17: The A J Institute of Medical Sciences has joined a selected few medical colleges in India having their own international, peer reviewed, indexed, scientific, medical journal titled “International Journal of A J Institute of Medical Sciences” which was launched on the July 16 by the President of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust.

 A J Shetty journal publication in today’s world remains the cornerstone of academic progress in which the scientific community shares, ratifies and promotes scientific knowledge and in doing so the A J  Institute of Medical Sciences, Mangalore has reached a new milestone in launching its own journal wherein, an international panel of scientific experts forms the editorial board.

The editor-in-chief of the journal is Dr Francis N P Monteiro whose dedication has seen the journal from conception to publication in a short space of time which was lauded by A J Shetty and assured the continuous support of the management for scientific research. The editorial published in the first issue of the journal highlights the importance of publishing research.

The occasion was also graced by the vice president- Prashanth Shetty, medical director- Prashanth Marla, director-medical administration -Amitha Marla, dean of the medical college- M Ramesh Pai, dean of the dental college- B Sureshchandra and associate dean -Dr P P Devan.
