Mangalore: ZP CEO Instructs Engineers to Prevent Accidental Drowning Deaths

Mangalore, Jul 18: ZP chief executive officer Dr K N Vijayaprakash instructed assistant executive engineers and executives to take precautionary measures against drowning of children in water conservation ponds, disused borewells, and to avoid any tragedies during the monsoon season by fencing such spots and erecting warning signs.

Dr Vijayaprakash advised assistant executive engineers and executive engineers to enforce the directives through panchayat development officers and local engineers.

He also instructed the effective implementation of Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee project in the district in co-operation with NGOs and locals.

The departments—social forestry, plantation, minor irrigation, agriculture, and social welfare had to strive in order to reach the state benefits to people under Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee project with a view to rural development.
