Media Release

Mangalore, Jul 23:
The kindergarten of Lourdes Central School began their new academic year, with renewed spirits.

The month of July was dedicated to “Healthy Tiffin”, in order to bring awareness to healthy food for healthy living.

The teachers briefed out the importance of healthy diet. The charts on healthy tiffin were displayed on school notice boards and classrooms made by students and teachers. Students were taught songs on food, in different languages.

The students were motivated to bring healthy tiffin like dosas, sandwiches, chapattis, rice, fruits and vegetables and also showed a few healthy tiffins during the class assembly.

On July 7, the tiny tots had a gala time savoring the delicious sandwiches made especially for them, by their respective teachers.

Primary Colours Introduced to Kindergarten Children

“Remember, that hope is a good thing, Red may be the best of things and no good thing ever dies”. - By Stephen King.

“How wonderful yellow is. It stands for the Sun”. - By Vincent Van Gogh.

“Blue colour is everlastingly appointed by the deity to be a source of delighted” By John   Ruskin

The above are the wonderful quotes of the famous personalities, as regard to the primary colours, “Red”, “Yellow”, and “Blue”.

The primary colours along with Green colour were introduced at LCS Kindergarten for KG1 Students during the month of June 2012.

As a part of the celebration children brought varieties of toys/objects of prime colours to decorate their classrooms.  They wore primary colour dresses along with their class teacher on the day of celebration.

Art activities like sponge dabbing on an apple, finger printing on mango, colouring sunflower, cloth dabbing on a blue whale, thumb printing on leaf  was conducted. Children sang many songs on these primary colours.

That’s how the Lourdites registered the beauty of these primary colours “Red” “Yellow” and “Blue” permanently in their minds.

Good Move by LCS - as they say "catch them young & Teach them" - see the youth of today at the Food courts in the malls - it has become a fashion statement to gorge on junk food - little do they know that CANCER is rampant today and unhealthy food is one of the major causes for this / other illness. The LCS canteen too should focus on wholseome and nutritious food.
