Udupi, Aug 29: Manjunath Udyavar, husband of Radha Manjunath and father of Sarala, passed away on Wednesday August 29 morning. He worked as the secretary for Oscar Fernandes, former central minister and served the congress party for 35 years.
He was 56-years-old and was unwell for the past couple of months.
Manjunath was a very active and versatile personality in Udyavar. He was the treasurer of Udupi District Congress, president of the Udyavara grameena congress and honorary president of Udyavar Friends Circle and a dynamic person. He was also an established member of many other organizations and committees throughout Udyavar.
"His contribution in various aspects will be remembered by all the Udyavarites. He had also rendered his services towards the improvement of Udyavara Stadium and the Hindu Rudrabhoomi (Crematory Grounds) " says a congress party worker in Udyavar
