Kundapur, Oct 13: Gangolli police station in Udupi district has secured seventh place among Karnataka’s 10 best-performing police stations over the past decade, earning recognition for its performance and bringing distinction to the district police department.

The assessment examined several aspects of police work, including reducing road accidents, filing charge sheets, implementing e-beat policing, using e-Sakshya for electronic evidence and issuing e-summons.

The maintenance of records relating to offenders and rowdy-sheeters, along with appropriate action against them, also formed part of the assessment. Other parameters included the prompt disposal of complaint petitions, responsiveness towards the public and various other department-related activities.

Gangolli police station's seventh-place finish in the state-wide assessment marks a significant achievement for Udupi district, with its performance measured against a broad set of operational and public-service indicators over the 10-year period.
