Udupi: Shree Venugopal Temple All Set to Celebrate Golden Jubilee

A press meet was organized by 'Udupi district Soma Krshathriya Samajam', a community of Somakshathriya Ghanniga, Barkur on Wednesday August 29.

The community has been offering prayers at the Shree Venugopal Krishna temple, Barkur, Kundapur as their (Kuladhevasthana) from ages. These people have contributed in large numbers to the society.

The organization began in 1961 and it will be celeberating its 50 year soon.

As a part of the golden Jubilee celebration, the community will be conducting various events such as games, yakshagana, health aids and cultural programmes.

The event will be on held on Sunday September 2. On the same day a free eye camp; blood donation camp will also be held during which around 300 members are expected to donate blood.

The organization has planned to build new guest houses for the devotees who come to worship the lord at the temple.

The community holds programmes like Arogya Nidhi, free education for the poor students, cricket and other games for the youth and felicitations for the renewed personalities in the society
