Mangalore : Onam Celebrations at AIMIT, St Aloysius College

Mangalore, Aug 30: Students of AIMIT, St Aloysius College, and Mangalore celebrated the Onam festival on August 29.

All the students were gathered in the auditorium when King Mahabali arrived to inaugurate the festival.

























































 

Justine, Warden and faculty of the MBA section spoke why Onam has a special significance to him. Fr Ozzie and Fr Denzil inaugurated the festivities by lighting the lamp.

Dr Oswald Mascarenhas, Chairman, MBA section greeted the gathering in Malayalam and spoke of his appreciation of the feast.

There were dances and songs and competitions to mark the festive occasion. Fr Denzil Lobo, Director, AIMIT also greeted the gathering and spoke of the significance of the feast which brings people of casts and religions together and promotes fellowship and unity.

Students also had a rangoli designed which was much appreciated by all. The programme ended with serving of delicious payasam.
