Udupi, Aug 30:
Veterinary doctors in the district are going to stage a protest in front of the DC office, Manipal to demand for their rights, on Saturday September 1.

Though it is a state level protest, the district will support the cause in the best possible way, said Dr Prabhulinga (Karnataka veterinary doctors, Udupi- President) at a press meet today.

Veterinary doctors are demanding basic facilities from the government because they have to work in villages without enough staff and support

Agriculture and farming can avail the government services which are provided in plenty. But the government has never bothered to work for the betterment of the veterinary doctors. The Karnataka veterinary doctors association has appealed for the same many times but to no avail.

The vets are now demanding that the applications have to be forwarded by the association and have to be fulfilled by the government.

Postings must be conducted via counselling. Veterinary doctors and staffs should be provided as per the requirement.

The veterinary hospital should provide financial aids and medication facilities. Applications have been on hold from the past 9 months while there are so many other schemes that are pending, stated the association.

The veterinary doctors association has been waiting to get the minimum benefits out of it.

The association is now for the first time going forward to protest. They have demanded the concerned authorities to fulfill their requirements before September 10. If not, then from September 11 onwards all the work will be stopped and they will not contribute to any of the government schemes, claimed the association.

Dr Nagraj Baliga(general secretary KVDA), Dr Shankar Shetty (vice president),Dr Prashanth Jain( secretary ) and Arun Kumar Hegde (treasurer).

Should house visits be free? Unless there's emergency, owners can get their animals to the hospitals.Dear Dr Kiran, Govt doesnt provide vehicle, petrol or even TA if vets travel for treating animal. Come to the institutions and get animals treated for free with poor quality rate contract medicines provided by Govt.
