Kundapur, Aug 30: The tourism department seems to have turned a blind eye towards the development of Paduvari Someshwar seashore, said Ravindra Shambaugham of Byndoor Nagarika Vedike (Citizens' Forum), while addressing the media.

"Basic amenities like seating facilities for the visitors and better walkways for people to relax at the beach need to be added," he said.

There is a dire need for appropriate waste management in order to keep the beach clean. The narrow road that connects the beach also needs to be widened, he said.

"The people's representatives need to get funds sanctioned for the development of the beach and utilize the same in the right manner.

"Beach festivals and other cultural activities need to be organized, similarly to what was held at the Malpe beach," advised Ravindra.

Although beach tourism should be encouraged I am skeptical about it. The Bajrang Dalis / HJV / Rama Sene goons may rape women tourists out there. So think many times before you venture into this sort of tourism. The Police will be mute spectators. They come like hero's after all the damage is done.
