Udupi: LIC launches Jeevan Deep Policy

Udupi, Sep 2: The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) launched a new Policy ’Jeevan Deep’ on Saturday September 1. On account of LIC’s 56th anniversary, September 1 to 7 will be celebrated as insurance week.

Addressing the media, Shirati, senior division manager, said that by the year 2020 every citizen will have a LIC policy.

LIC came into existance in the year 1956. After globalization, as many as 23 insurance companies came into existence in India, among which LIC stands in the first position.

For upgradation of Jeevan Deep policy, LIC has tie ups with many NGO’s. The organization with 1.19 lac employees and 12.78 lac representatives has 40 cr policy members.

Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Chikmagalur come under Udupi division which consists of 17 branches, 6 sub branches. 3.85 lac new policies, 383 cr was collected from Udupi in the previous year. This year the number is expected to rise with the revised policy.
