Kasargod: Sacrament of Confirmation Celebrated at Bela

Kasargod, Sep 4: The sacrament of confirmation was recently celebrated at Our Lady of Dolours Church, Bela, Kasaragod. It was a grace filled moment for all the faithful of Bela.

Dr Aloysius D’Souza, the Bishop of Mangalore officiated the ceremony.

“Confirmation is a Catholic sacrament of mature Christian commitment and a deepening of baptismal gifts. It is the final sacrament of initiation and it is an excellent time for a young Catholic to grow in faith. The celebration of confirmation will be a significant step in the life long journey of faith. It is most often associated with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Filled with the gifts of the Holy Spirit all must strive to witness Lord Jesus Christ through words and deeds”, said Bishop during the sermon.

During this ceremony 170 young catholic faithful of age 15-25 were confirmed by the Bishop.

Fr Vincent D’ Souza, parish priest, Fr Antony and Fr Joshi were the concelebrants. The recipients were trained by Br Anil Ivan F’ Des and Sr Mariyamma.
A booklet containing brief information about the shrine and testimonials of the devotees was released during the same.
