Kundapur, Sep 5: The taluk level Kabbadi tournament was inaugurated at Thekkatte PU College here on Monday September 3.

The tournament was jointly organized by Thekkatte PU College, Department of Education, zonal education officers, Kundapur for high school students.

Ganapathi T Shriyan, zilla panchayat member flagged off the tournament and Shivaram Shetty, former president of Thekatte gram panchayat presided at the meet.

Gopal Shetty, education officer, Shobha Shetty, integration officer, Sanjeeva Devadiga, vice president of Thekatte gram panchayat, Sadaraam Shetty, president of primary teachers association, Thajna KV Nayak, Dattathreya Nayak, Jagadish Bhat, principal of Thekatte College, DR H Ballal, Ravindra Shetty were the main guests.

Appana, former MLA spoke on the occasion and wished good luck to the participants.

H Gopal Shetty, vice principal welcomed, Prakash Molahalli compered and Santhosh delivered vote of thanks.

As many as ten teams among boys and seven teams among girls participated in the tournament.

In the boys category first place was bagged by Kundapur government PU College and second by government PU College, Bidkalkatte. While in the girl’s category, government PU College, Haaladi secured first and Government School, Belur were the runners up.
