Dublin, Sept 10: ‘’Let us celebrate with joy the birth of the Virgin Mary, of who was born the Sun of Justice.... Her birth constitutes the hope and the light of salvation for the whole world.... Her image is light for the whole Christian people" (From the Liturgy).

This year once again KIG group gathered together as ‘ONE FAMILY’ to celebrate Monthi feast on 8th September 2012 in Blanchardstown, Ajith/Diana’s residence.

As a preparation to the feast day, 9 families volunteered for the Nine days of novena to Mother Mary in their own homes which was commenced on 30th August.  Large group of families with children took part to venerate Mother Mary.

On the feast day itself, the programme started with blessing of new harvest (Novem) at 10.30am by Fr. John followed by Holy mass.  The blessed grain was distributed to all families present. After mass, everyone; especially children gathered in front of the Infant Mary’s statue, singing and rejoicing with  joy and respect to offer flowers to Infant Mary.

After which Novem with milk was distributed. Everyone was delighted and happy with the delicious homemade Mangalorean vegetarian food and Vorn which was prepared by KIG family members.

Cultural programme started with a welcome tableau led by Jacintha D’Costa with the help of Diana Sequiera followed by various talents by kids and enthusiastic adults. Helen Castelino, Master of Ceremony helped to entertain the gathering with jokes and added life to the programme. Goodie bags were distributed to all kids by Ajith Sequiera. Report was presented by Teresa D’Souza. Maria took the privilege to thank all who were present and helped to make the day a great success.
