Mangalore, Sep 12: “The procedure to submit a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against communal groups to curb their inciting activities is on full swing”, said M G Hegde, the leader of JDS.

Following have been mentioned in the PIL, he said in the press conference - All the groups that work with the religious agenda, namely Sangh pariwar, Popular front of India, and the like, have to be registered under Society Act and the office bearers names have to be published. Displaying banners in public places have to be banned. The conventions that are organized by these groups after the declaration of elections have to be completed stopped. The district administration and police have to be clearly informed well in advance regarding the protests, fights, anti-religious programmes or discussion sessions, if any.

“Any organization spreading communal disharmony in the district is creating problems to the society. These organizations should reveal to the public their information like from where they obtain funds, programme schedules, problems, background etc”, Hegde urged.

The PIL report also states for seeking information on complaints relating to salvation, love jihad, sex scandals, cheating Hindu girls that have been filed by any outfits and its leaders from 2009 to 2012.

Answering to this report, the officers of Beltangady, Puttur rural, Bantwal rural, Kadaba, Bantwal city, Panambur, Mangalore south, Mangalore east, Ullal and Mangalore rural police stations have confirmed in writing that no cases relating to the mentioned issues have been filed or registered, explained Hegde.

Vijay Kumar Shetty, former MLA, Chandrakala Nandavar, lyricist, Mohammed Baddur, Susheel Noronha, Abdul Azeez Malar, Shashiraj Shetty and K Jinnappa were present.

    I think this is the right way, especially these organizations should make their source of income public. We all should support this.
    And only those registered organizations should be allowed to conduct protest and rallies

    Is it only reserved for majority community or applicable for minorities also. If you touch minority you will loose votes.. just appease them.
