Bantwal: 1150 Teachers Attend Training Programme

Bantwal, Sep 13: As many as 43 high schools in the taluk were converted into Science centers’. 1150 teachers of the taluk enthusiastically took part in the special training programme on genuine science, under the banner, ‘Baa Magu Vijnana Lokada Vismayake’.

The programme was organized to spread awareness among the primary school teachers. Different methods of experimenting were explained. Educating the students about genuine science was the main aim of this programme.

Finding solutions to the questions and the new ways of experimenting through the older methods was the main ideology behind this programme which was organized by the educational department. As many as 33 experiments that come under the syllabus for students of class 1 to 7 were discussed and the different methods involved in obtaining solutions were explained.

During the presentation, magnetic radiations, light rays, water purification system, sound waves passing through thread, specialty of ice, image capture in the pin hole, far vision, and many other experiments were explained.

High school students demonstrated the experiments and explained the same. The primary teachers were seen noting down the experiment methods. The primary school teachers who were part of this programme returned with vast amount of information of their subjects.

“A teacher’s role is very important in creating interest among the students. Such teaching methodology will continue in the future,” said Bantwal educational officer, K Sudhakar. “The teachers who attended the programme should impart the same to their students and the students will be asked to explain the experiments on Januray 26th”, he said.

“The programme organized at Vitala High school is outstanding. Experimentation in some schools is vanishing due to lack of staff. We have learnt many simple and easy methods”, said Sangeetha, Anila Katte School teacher

“Organizing such programmes with a view to attract children to the world of science is a good methodology”, said Ravikala, Ajjibettu higher primary school teacher.
