Mangalore: Thanksgiving Programme for Capt Ganesh Karnik to be Held on Sep 16

Mangalore, Sep 13: “Capt Ganesh Karnik’s thanksgiving programme will attract people just like his personality”, said Kumble Sundar Rao, president of Kalopasaka Capt Ganesh Karnik Abhinandana Samithi.

He was speaking at the press meet held in press club on Thursday September 13, regarding the thanksgiving programme for MLC, Capt Ganesh Karnik which will be held on September 16 at the Town Hall from 9 am to 5 pm.

Karnik has always been supporting culture and art. Whenever he attends any cultural programme, especially Bharatanatya, Yashagana, he waits till the end. He not only encourages the artists, but also gives feedbacks and makes room for further improvement in them.

In recognition to this unique character of Karnik, many art groups and foundations have joined hands and formed a team named Kalpasaka Capt Ganesh Karnik Abhinandana Samithi and a thanksgiving programme has been arranged, Kumble said. Many artists and troupes will participate in the programme. Dance teachers from Mangalore, Hyderabad will take part, he added.

Chandrahas Shetty, secretary told that for the first time a programme of such sort has been arranged, in which various artists and troupes participate.

Nithyananda Rao, secretary, added that the programme has been arranged keeping in mind Karnik’s passion and desire to unite all the art troupes. Different varieties of music and dance will be presented during the programme.

“People get attracted to certain music because they are not familiar with other forms. In order to give a touch of all the artistic forms, the programme has been organized”, he told.

Swarna Sundar and Vijaykumar Kodiyalbail (vice presidents) were also present in the meet.
