Subramanya, Sep 14: The Anti Naxal Force (ANF) continued the combing operation at Subramanya, Kaikamba, Cheru in search of the injured naxalite after receiving information of a dead body being found here on Thursday September 13.

Sources said that a person had given information to Kadaba police stating that he saw a decomposed body in Cheru. The information spread like a wild fire in the region.

The police assumed that the body might be that of the person who was injured during the fire exchange on September 4.

An ambulance found near Cheru at around 7 am aroused further curiosity among the locals. They assumed that the body is that of the injured naxal.

When asked the ambulance driver, he said that he came to the spot at around 6 am as per the police orders.

IGP Alok Kumar said that there are more chances of the injured naxal and other accomplices hiding in Baagilumale forest. There is no chance for the naxals to escape from the region as the place is surrounded by the river, he said.

The ANF team is carrying out its combing operations in three groups, he added.

Sources said that the two ANF teams and the ambulance returned back around 5.30 pm.

The ANF police said that the false rumor of naxal presence is spread by naxals to escape from the place as it was witnessed earlier.

It is learnt that a group of five naxals were found in Cheru region two days back. With this information police is continuously carrying out search operations in this region. One ANF team is carrying out its operations in Bisile region, while on Thursday morning two ANF teams from Karkal have entered the dense Cheru forest.
