Udupi, Sep 14: Junior Chamber International Kallianpur (JCI) Zone XV felicitated Richard D'Souza, journalist and social worker, during the JCI Kallianpur decennial celebrations at Santhekatte here on Thursday September 13.

During the felicitation ceremony Jayaprakash Hegde, Udupi-Chikmaglur MP, Jc Sadanand Navada, national convener of Youth Jaycees wing, Prabhaker Poojary, president of Sthyahi committee, Udupi muncipal council, Ashok Samanth, president of Maxicab Union Santhekatte, JFD Murlidhar Suvarna, president of Jaycees Kallianpur, HGF Sandhya Rajesh, secretary, JFD Mithra Kumar, director of Sapthaya celebrations, JFD Shekar Gujjerbettu, past president and president of Billawara Sangha Kallianpur, JJC Allan Poster D'Silva, president of Junior Jaycees and other Jaycee officials were present.

Prior to the felicitation ceremony Jc Sadanand introduced Richard D'Souza. JCI Kallianpur honoured Richard D'Souza for his outstanding achievements in the field of journalism and his services to the society. Presently he is serving as the president of SSVP Milagres Church Conference.

He also served as the president of Catholic Sabha Milagres unit, general secretary of Catholic Sabha, Kallianpur Deanery, past general secretary of Catholic Sabha, Udupi District Pranth, executive member of Milagres College Alumni Association and executive member of Catholic Sabha, Mangalore Pradesh Mangalore Diocese. He is also a member of Milagres Parish Pastoral Parishad.

Jc Sadanand Navada and Prabhaker Poojary spoke during the occasion. MP Jayaprakash Hegde said that the Kallianpur Jaycees are shining at the national level for their outstanding services and achievements. Jaycees Kallianpur has been recognizing and honouring several personalities for their achievements during the Sapthaya celebrations every year.

The programme was then followed by ‘Nage Habba’, a comedy show by well known TV artist Richard Lewis and his team.
