Bhatkal: Missing Women, Children Found with Two Men in Rented House

Yahya Hallare
Daijiworld Media Network - Bhatkal

Bhatkal, Sep 25: In a new development, the seven women and children of a family from Bhatkal who had gone missing in Vijaywada were found in a rented house at Narasaraopet in Guntur district, about 150 km from Vijaywada.

The police, acting on a tip off, raided the house on Monday September 23 and found Bibi Fathima, her sister Salma along with their children and a 15-year-old girl. Two unmarried men were also with them.

It may be recalled that Bibi Fathima (25), wife of Imran Mashayik, a resident of Bhatkal Maghdum Colony, their children Irfan Mashayik (4) and Khadija Amreen (4 months); Fathima's sister Salma Saiyyad Afsar (23) and her children Saiyyad Sabir Afsar (4) and Saiyyad Bashira (2); and their relative Syeda Hajibee aka Sanni (15) had gone missing after visiting Fathima's mother's house in Vijaywada on September 11.

The news had made headlines everywhere, including in Vijaywada, where a case had been registered. The owner of the house, on seeing the missing persons' photograph in papers realized that they had rented the house from him. He immediately informed the police who then conducted the raid and rounded them up. They were then taken to Vijaywada police station.

The other two men who were found with the women and children were identified as Sheikh Amin (23) and Syed Baji (20). Police claim that these men and the two sisters were neighbours in Vijaywada, and had an affair going from many years. The women went with the men on their own accord and rented the house, where all of them including the children stayed together since September 11, said Vijaywada 2nd town police inspector Prasad Rao.

However, Fathima's husband Imran rubbished claims of an affair and said that he and Fathima were happily married for several years now with absolutely no marital discord between them. "I cannot imagine how she could have an affair. Those men may have lured our 15-year-old girl relative," he said. He also said that he would be going to Vijaywada to bring all the seven back.

Vijaywada police are investigating the case.

Leave along virginity if a to-be-bride asks the to-be-groom to undergo AIDS test, the man yells at the top of his voice and refuses to marry the girl ?

    Dear Joseph
There is no such thing as a
'Virgin Boy'.I think you call him a 'Stud', who has been spoilt!! Believe me I am holding my sides, unable to control my laughter writing this.
Sincer'ly' ,truthful'ly' and proud'ly' say he is a 'Virgin Boy'
O Maa Can't control myself!!. He'd better lay a 'Idly'if he is put through that acid test!Got what you are driving at though! Seriously haven't come across any of the matrimonial advertisements
of girls seeking 'Virgin' boys and boys seeking 'Virgin ' girls.
They I mean both both parties take it for granted...Times however have changed. Now the question asked is
Is Virginity the only and surest sign of purity? Is a 'Stud' a reliable partner?

    Dear LLydia Lobo, Kadri,

I am impressed of your answer See below:

Men seek a virgin girl while marrying/seek proposals/seeking a bride suppose the girl also asks similar question to men Are you a virgin boy and can men sincerely, truthfully and proudly say that I am a virgin boy???!!!

English proverb says if a person has money love comes from the door, if the money is exhausted love flies through the window. (This is in the case of both men and women).

if women escaped from their marital home, it does not mean that, they are having extra marital affair. or if they have, then they would'nt have taken the kids with them. In this male dominating world just don't criticize women without knowing the truth. Something terrible must have happened. May be they were subjected to mental/physical torture. or may be a very strong reason they have. else why so many of them together leave the house taking kids with along with them?

    Vikram,

You are seeing what women suffered by men all these years. By-th-way, why are you saying women going to pubs, drinking, smoking is bad ? Is it alright if men do this ? Do you know how difficult it is for a girl to find a non-alcoholic/non-smoking groom these days ?

You want all good qualities in a bride but you don't care how many addictions are existing in a groom ? As per you, isn't a girl supposed to accept a man along with his addictions ?

I am reading maximum comments here blaming only women for this affair or whatever the truth could be. How come you all forgot that there are TWO MEN, strangers, too involved in this ? If the girls are not raised properly by their parents, weren't the men too ?

Well, it upto the family to sort the matters out because there are children involved. However, do not blame the women alone - they have not fled with animals as many men practice.

Wilma, you said it right. Men are not saints !

happy marriage?! lol, she was making him a fool all these years. Poor, clueless, man. wise thing to do is take divorce. One can to be forced to stay in marriage. Its usually men who used to walk out of the marriage but these days, women are not far behind men in cheating! Finally, gender equality in cheating! by the way leave out the religion aspect. Love/lust is a basic human nature, noting do with any religion.

There is no point putting someone under golden cage. If they don't want to stay with him , its better let her go. Its in the best interest to use triiple talaqs. But husband should b carefull about ailmoney they ask after separation , women r notorious regarding this. As their muslims , only IDDAT applies. Not a single rupee should b given , let them work and earn.

I guess these love affairs are every where. I was very grieved at one such incident took place here. A Girl from koppa married to a rich boy and had a male child. And this girl was in love secretly with her very neighbor. Finally she got divorce and even left the son with husband, took all the money and left. Unfortunately the boys own cousin had played all games in this and separated them. Dear married people please be open and honest. Love is perfect when you have no hide and seek.

If what is mentioned here about the incident is to be true, then it is the women's wrong upbringing by their parents and the environment of the house where these ladies presently live in after marriage. Most importantly, the husbands of these women are also to be blamed grossly for the excessive liberty granted to their spouses.

Hope police officials investigating the case will go to the grass level and unearth the truth.

according to the husband if they are happily married then why women escape with children? they are adults, they have the rights to choose where they can be happy. Just listen to the women, there should be strong reason to leave the marital house investigate, before handing over them to Fatima's husband.

This is what happens when you cage birds they will fly off at the slightest opportunity. My heart goes out to women of the community who lead an oppressed life at the hands of male dominant society and norms. It is time for all women of the community to form an organization at the national level and repel this injustice and inequality in all walks of life from the male dominant community.
