No More Fasts, will Fight Through Agitations: Anna

Pune, Sep 29 (PTI): Anna Hazare has said that he will not resort to fasting any more to press for his demands, and will fight for his causes through agitations.

"Now onwards I will not undertake fast. In future I will fight for my causes through agitations," Hazare said last night at a Ganesh mandal ceremony in Pimpri-Chinchwad industrial township near here.

The anti-corruption crusader also said he would continue to work to send "clean" people to Parliament.

He said a large number of retired IAS officers had shown their willingness to join his movement for a corruption-free India. Expressing full faith in country's youth, Hazare asked them not to be pessimistic about future of the country.

Hazare had gone for fast three times last year (twice in Delhi and once in Mumbai) to press for a strong Lokpal Bill.

The Gandhian again sat on a protest fast at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi in July this year.
Earlier, he had undertaken hunger strikes on several occasions in Maharashtra on issues related to corruption and transparency in governance.

Hazare says he is deeply influenced by Mahatma Gandhi, for whom fasting was a spiritual weapon.

    Anna bhai fed up of fasting becasue no one listen to him nor his own people repeatedly involved with corruptions. This Hungry fasting man will die if he sacrifice his life to save the nation whereas his own men are committed with corruption. One has to be clear with mind and soul to clean corruption without political involvement or fanatics on religious values which will people will help him to achive his goals. based on annas attitude not clear whom his supporting, what he wants to achive. some confusion arisese whcih created Mr.Hedge t o side line from this Anna. In order to succesful oad has to be clear, acheivable, measurable, targetted.

    I think he biggest mistake Anna made was to take sides with BJP and criticize only Congress and not even UPA. Even when he and his Team were in Bangalore when Karnataka was reeling from the greatest corruption crisis in a state ever,they did not say a word against the corruption of BJP in the state but instead focused on their attacks on Congress and its leaders in Delhi which is 2000 Kms away.

    The problem is Kejriwal will get votes mainly from the educated middle class which generally supports BJP. As a result, it will split the BJP vote bank benefiting the congress.
    Congress vote bank lies in the form of minorities, dalits and rural population. Even if congress suck their blood in front of them, still they will vote for congress only.

    ANNA DOES NOT WANT TO FAST NOW AS HE KNOWS NEXT TIME IF HE FASTS HE WILL DIE. WHAT AGITATION THIS OLD GOOSE CAN DO WHEN THEIR OWN TEAM IS NOT UNITED AND SPLIT AND DAY BY DAY ONE MEMBER IS QUITTING THE TEAM. ANNA FIRST UNITE YOUR TEAM AND THEN WORRY ABOUT UPA, PM OR SOANIAJI. ITS THE TIME FOR YOU TO REST. YOUR OWN TEAM IS CORRUPT SO YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TALK ABOUT CORRUPTION. FIRST SET YOUR OWN HOUSE IN ORDER. LET THE GOVERNMENT WORK. IF THE GOVERNMENT IS CORRUPT PEOPLE OF INDIA WILL DECIDE THE FATE OF THE UPA GOVERNMENT. YOU DON'T DECIDE AND BADKAV PUBLIC. ITS TIME FOR YOU TO RELAX AND DIE A PEACEFUL DEATH.     Annaji, you lost totally for supporting BJP on the quiet and openly opposing Congress rule. U failed realise that people chose govt. Why did you take sides? why not impartial?
