Mangalore: MSMEs Should Change with Time, Adopt Technology - Corp Bank CMD

The regional conclave on ‘MSMEs: Building capacities for sustainable growth’ was held at the Senate hall of Hotel Deepa Comforts here on Thursday November 29.
 
Addressing the gathering Ajay Kumar, CMD, Corporation Bank opined that Micro Small and Medium Enterprises should change with time and make use of technology. "Good research is also a vital requirement in MSMEs in order to enhance the market," he said.

"MSMEs have done their best in Mangalore. Corporation Bank has opened loan centers across the nation and the 16th center will be opened in Jaipur on December 4," he said and added, "Entrepreneurship should be inculcated by the younger generation."
 
M Ameen, president of KCCI Mangalore in his address said that there are 19,200 MSMEs sheltering one-and-a-half lac people in the DK district. "However lack of availability of land is a matter of concern as one acre of land provided by KIADB costs Rs 50 lac. The government should come up with new provisions in this regard," he said.
 
J Crasta, co-chairman, Assocham Southern Regional Council said that lip sympathy for MSMEs by the government does not help in anyway as there is problem in accessing financial help.
 
"About 79 micro medium ventures turn sick everyday in India for which the government should take necessary measure," he said.
 
Raghuram Shetty, regional manager, State Bank of India, Prakash Hebbar, DGM, Corporation Bank and V K Bhat, AGM, Karnataka Bank among others were present.
