I have seen the way buses ply on Mangalore roads, very dangerously driven and no safety in any way adhered to. Innocent people loose their lives, why can't they be strict traffic enforcement laws to stop innocent people loosing their lives.

on 26th of December I lost my mother in the same place, hardly 50 meters away. Why the hell the authorities are not working on the road widening work, finish the lanes and make it safe. Pedestrians are also not safe and now the vehicles as well. RIP and my condolences to the deceased person's family.

Comparing to Mangalore, why Bombay has less accident because when there is a accident hit by the bus driver, the locals hit the bus driver without mercy. There is a fear among the bus driver and this has reduced the bus accident to a great level.

Careless driving by bus drivers, in most of the cases, leads to accidents as the bus/ truck drivers are in safe position.

Very sad. May the departed soul of Naveenchandra rest in peace. Heartfelt condolenses to the bereaved members of the family.

May the soul of Naveenchandra rest in eternal peace and may God give all the comfort to the bereaved family. Also a speedy recovery to the ones injured. NH66 is a busy highway and dangerous too as some of the buses go beyond the speed limits and cause accidents killing innocent people and injuring also. There are no dividers on most highways for oncoming and incoming traffic and hence these fatal accidents happen. I am surprised how two vehicles collide head on. It must be due to speeding and no control of the vehicle.

why blame public transport alone... our car drivers and bike riders are no less.... the lack of civic sense and an inate loss of patience and growth of an unexplainable egoistic monsterous attitude among vechile riders has increased such instances across the country.... there cant be smoke without fire....

NH66 should be blocked by people indefinitely until and unless the government gives an assurance to complete the Road Widening work which has already killed thousands of lives .

It is not my intention to rash judge and blame the bus driver. However buses these days drive beyond the prescribed speed limits casing accidents. This is common in Mangalore and it is a regular sight for two or three buses being parked abreast. Again in an attempt to get passengers buses try to pass each other putting lives to risks. There was a move some years ago to insist on the fitting of speed governors on public vehicles. However there was a protest against this move and the rule was called of.

It is now expedient that all traffic rules are ruthlessly imposed which is necessary to save the lives of innocent people.
