One Direction pledge to take language classes

London, Jan 22 (IANS): British band One Direction has promised themselves to learn at least 20 common words of language of the country they will tour in future.

The band, consisting of Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne, faced an awkward situation during a press conference in Japan recently, when they faced a cultural shock and could not interact properly.

However, now they want to avoid such situations, reports thesun.co.uk.

"The press conference in Japan got embarrassing because the boys' culture shock was so obvious," a source said.

"Over the weekend they vowed to learn at least 20 of the most common words in the languages of the countries they're visiting before they land there. They think it will avoid embarrassing moments and build up a bond with fans," the source added.

The group plans to use online tutorials.

"They're just going to use YouTube tutorials to brush up on their language skills and think that's going to be enough," the source said.
