It's Omi over Liquid for Divyendu after 'Chashme Baddoor'!

Mumbai, Apr 6 (IANS): Actor Divyendu Sharma was overjoyed when someone complimented him for his performance in "Chashme Baddoor", saying that his portrayal of Omi in the recently released film will make people forget his unforgettable character Liquid from his debut film "Pyaar Ka Punchnama".

"Best compliment for me was when someone told me that after seeing Omi, we will forget Liquid and will take him with us," the 29-year-old said here Friday at the announcement of the association between the film and clothing brand Lawman.

Divyendu is glad with the response to the film, which is a remake of the classic 1981 film of the same name. The movie released Friday.

"I think the response so far has been very good. Every review we are getting three or three-and-a-half stars and four stars also. So it's a very good vibe. People are really excited," Divyendu said.

"We have opened with (occupancy) close to 45-50 percent which is like a very good opening, considering they are morning shows. So far so good, let's see what happens," he added.

Meanwhile, Divyendu also talked about his experience of working with Rishi Kapoor in the film.

"Rishi Kapoor is such a fantabulous actor. The first time we met him, it took 15 to 20 minutes to sink in the fact that we are actually standing in front of him and enacting a scene with him," Divyendu said.

"He is such a humble and co-operative co-star. He helps you without giving any kind of attitude. He supports you so much. It is just so nice to see these people, they are working in the industry for the last 25 to 30 years and still they are so passionate about their work," added the actor.

"Chashme Baddoor" also stars Ali Zafar, Siddharth and Taapsee Pannu.
